Game Publisher Deploys Peer-Assisted Solution for Release of Highly Anticipated MMORPG

TEMPE, Ariz. – September 18, 2007 – Solid State Networks, a leading developer of high-performance, low-cost, distributed content delivery solutions, today announced a significant addition to its growing focus in the gaming industry. Online game publisher, Acclaim Games, has licensed the Solid Axis™ Suite, the company’s state-of-the-art peer-assisted delivery technology, for the launch of the highly anticipated 2Moons® Free to Play MMORPG.

With all the tremendous hype surrounding the release of 2Moons, the large volume of expected simultaneous game downloads could have potentially overwhelmed the delivery system and magnified costs significantly. Solid State Networks’ innovative technology helped Acclaim successfully deliver an astonishing 500,000 downloads of the 2Moons game within the first month of release, resulting in the biggest opening launch ever for an Acclaim online game title.

“Using Solid State’s technology, we have achieved a combination of faster download speeds during peak demand and lower per-game delivery costs,” said Howard Marks, CEO of Acclaim Games. “We are extremely pleased with these results and will be expanding use of this technology to all of our game titles.”

In support of the launch of 2Moons, Solid State deployed its software solution as an overlay to content delivery network infrastructure provided by BandCon, made possible through a partnership announced by the companies last month. Every player acquiring the game was assured reliable delivery by connecting to one of multiple servers deployed in North America and Europe. Concurrently, each player also temporarily participated in a closed P2P network during the transfer process. In this manner, each player receives pieces of each file from many different sources, speeding download times, and reducing the dependence on the provisioned delivery infrastructure. During the launch of 2Moons, over 50 percent of the data was transferred among the peer network, while some users reported transfer rates as high as 1000KB/sec.

“We are both honored and thrilled that Acclaim has entrusted us with this critical component of their business,” said Rick Buonincontri, founder and CEO of Solid State Networks. “As early adopters of peer-assisted technology, they are demonstrating that they continue to be thought of as leaders in the online video game industry.”

Alliance offers expanded flexibility to build custom peer-assisted delivery solutions

Costa Mesa, Calif. – August 16, 2007 – Wholesale network infrastructure provider BandCon and Solid State Networks, developer of high-performance, distributed content delivery solutions, announced today a strategic partnership that will enable content publishers and distributors to build their own peer-assisted Content Delivery Networks (CDN). Through this arrangement, companies can now seamlessly exploit the incremental growth framework enabled by deploying Solid State Networks’ proprietary software over BandCon’s premier infrastructure.

“BandCon’s unique ‘pay-as-you-grow’ business model is a great fit for our customers that want to create or expand their own network footprint for delivering content.” said Rick Buonincontri, President and Chief Executive Officer of Solid State Networks. “We have found that many content owners are not in a position to take on the high levels of risk associated with making the leap to become conventional CDN owners.”

“BandCon’s ability to provide access to a variety of quality networks and strategic peering exchanges combined with their customized service terms and fast implementation allows our customers to create highly flexible CDN solutions that are tailored to their needs.” Buonincontri added.

Under the agreement, the two firms will cross-market services to provide the best solutions for their clients. With direct access to a greater array of services, both firms are optimistic about the possibilities for their customers and see this arrangement as a precursor to future custom peer-assisted CDN deployments.

“Content owners are constantly seeking out the qualities that are inherent to Solid State’s offering: highly scalability, high performance, low per-unit delivery costs,” said Ari Benowitz, Chief Executive Officer of BandCon. “We believe the Solid State Networks technology will become an important component of future CDN deployments, and this partnership creates an ideal opportunity for content owners to license and deploy the software – quickly and easily through a ‘one-stop-shop’ fostered by the agreement.”

About Solid State Networks
Solid State Networks is a developer of high performance distributed content delivery solutions based upon its own proprietary implementation of the BitTorrent™ protocol. Solid State’s offerings are ideal for the distribution of high-demand, massive digital objects, including PC and console video games, high-resolution video including feature films and television programs, music and software programs.

Solid State’s Distributed Delivery Network (DDN) technology dynamically integrates diverse network resources, multiple network service providers and a closed peer-to-peer network to reduce costs, improve performance and achieve high quality of service. The DDN is typically implemented as an overlay to an existing CDN or IP transit infrastructure.
